Has anyone been on the upper St. Louis River (in Minnesota) that could offer some water level information? I’m interested in paddling there soon. Also, what’s the Cloquet like nowadays, if anyone knows?

    Charlie,

I drove by there yesterday, and as expected the water looked low.

Where are you from, Charlie? We’ve been exceedingly dry again this summer, the second in a row, so we need some substantial rains just to start moving in the right direction. Nothing like the SE got, that wouldn’t be good!

    Try this link http://www.dnr.state.mn.us/canoeing/index.html

You can get the gauge flows here.

Also check the USGS water level site for all rivers in the USA

Thanks for the info. I might be back in that watershed — most likely up the Cloquet drainage — next week. I’ve got a cabin near the upper Cloquet.
