Situated in the heart of Ottawa National Forest, Watersmeet and Land O’Lakes are perfect as supply stops and boast access to one of the Upper Midwest’s premier outdoor recreation areas. Nicknamed “Waterfall Country,” Ottawa National Forest and the surrounding area are home to more than fifteen waterfalls and an abundance of spring-fed lakes and rivers. But that’s not all: more than 270 miles of shoreline in the Cisco Chain of lakes; Lac Vieux Desert, the 4,200 acre headwaters of the Wisconsin River; and three wilderness areas–Sylvania Wilderness, McCormick and Sturgeon River Gorge–all make this region a paddler’s paradise.
