My son and I are planning to canoe the Missouri river from KC to St. Louis this summer. I’m preparing to buy an appropriate 16 – 17 ft. canoe. Choice is between a new MAD RIVER plastic canoe or a used OSAGE aluminum canoe; price about the same.
Will the polypropelene canoe hold up as well as the aluminum canoe in the Missouri River? we don’t plan on hitting anything, but you never know….
Which would you recommend, and WHY? THANKS.
