    Hello,
    Greetings from Michigan.

I have a question on canoe seats.

I have a 17 foot coleman scanoe, and am looking to add seats with backs.

I”m wondering who has any experience with canoe seats installed on their canoe. I am looking at going with either:
1). “sit backer” canoe sold from LL beam. link: http://www.llbean.com/webapp/wcs/sto…d=-1&nav=s2-ln

2). “seat back – web” from old town canoes. link: https://crab.secure-host.com/extrasp…0&section_id=4

Although the “sit backer” looks much more comfortable, I have a line on
    (3) “seat back – web” design that someone wants to sell me for 85.00. (note: on the above link they want $104.00 EACH!!!). But they dont look look as comfortable.

Just wondering if anyone has used any of the above canoe seats and what their experience was.

Secondly, can anyone share their experiences on setup and fishing with a canoe? I”ll mostly be staying in inland lakes and rivers. I’ve heard you can “sneak” in areas much more quietly, and some have said they have caught more fish out of their canoe (must be the stealthiness??). I have a 3 hp gas motor, as well as a 55 lb thrust trolling motor. I’ll be also designing my own “outriggers” for it, so I can stand in it when necessary, as well as allowing for the clumsy “better half”, or “drunk friends”, when I take them out.

    Any and all input appreciated.

    Mike

    Hi Mike,

I’ve never used hard seats, used these crazy creek canoe chairs once years ago —

I wouldn’t say they were comfortable, just took some relief off the back while fishing…

anyone else use canoe seats or canoe chairs?

There are manufactures who specialize in fishing canoes/kayaks. Here is one to check out–
