A popular composite solo canoe. Incredibly versatile, it'll take you comfortably over all kinds of waters. Blending efficiency, stability, capacity, and finesse, it's ideal for cruising with a light load, but also has the volume needed for medium-length trips.
The Champlain has the efficiency and capacity to haul heavy loads long distances, but is also pleasant to paddle lightly loaded. It also has fullness for much of its length, giving it even greater volume than its dimensions suggest. It gets excellent stability from its size, and from its shallow-arched hull, a design that is less sensitive to waves and easier for paddlers to handle. Its slightly rockered keel-line also lets it turn quite easily for its size.
Round bottom, no tumblehome, good capacity, tracks well, very fast, great glide
The Wilderness 18 was designed by Keith Robinson to give the more experienced paddler some added water speed while still retaining load capacity and stability. While we believe the needs of novice paddlers are best served in our Quetico line of canoes, we find many experienced trippers absolutely love the Wilderness 18. Outfitters and park wardens alike, both in Canada and the U.S., swear by this canoe. It is deep as well as sleek and handles rough water well, even when heavily loaded.
The 18′ Jensen Stock is a great tripping canoe. A shallow arch hull makes it stable, and the slight tumblehome makes it easy to paddle. If you’re planning extended trips in the north country and don’t plan on paddling grade 2+ whitewater, the 18′ Stock could be the canoe you have been waiting for. The “Stock” offers general purpose paddling with capacity, handling and speed.
Go ahead, plan your trip - circumnavigate Prince Edward Island, or cruise the St. Lawrence to the sea. The Encounter was created for long, solo expeditions with ample gear. It tracks straight and carries weight easily over rough water. Roomy enough for large people and buoyant enough for heavy loads, the Encounter is a specially engineered craft. But it's engineered for comfort, too - with the standard sliding bucket seat and foot braces, you can easily adjust the canoe to fit you and your load.
