The Slocan is the perfect river tripping canoe. Its large load capacity of up to 1200 pounds gives you lots of free board even with a large load. With four inches of rocker the Slocan turns fast, surfs well, and is very dry in big waves. The Slocan also has lots of flare in the bow and stern ensuring a dry ride.
Multi-Use Craft: Rowing, Paddling, Sailing - Featherweight Kevlar/Graphite Construction Heron 17 R is also a highly popular tripping canoe... Whether you want a canoe for day tripping, weekend campouts, or extended lightweight camping trips, the Heron is an excellent choice. The Heron's featherweight Kevlar®/Graphite construction with an Airex foam core weighs a mere 42 pounds, making solo portages a breeze.
A short, responsive, yet fast tandem that's solo friendly. Redesigned in 2009, reshaping the bow and stern to improve efficiency, and adding more tumblehome to make solo paddling easier. A good fit for smaller paddlers, those who pack light, and people who prefer a shorter canoe. At 16'6" you can add a center seat to make it a maneuverable solo, as this is the most friendly length to switch between solo and tandem paddling.
The original Prospector was a river-running boat known as the work horse of the North. This proven down river hull is our version of the classic design, and the closest thing to the original that money can buy. It's a stable hull for rivers and streams - with ample rocker it's quick to turn. Because of the symmetrical shape of the hull, a solo paddler loaded with gear could make good progress by turning around in the bow seat and paddling it backward.
The Workhorse of the Canadian north, the Prospector 16’ feels most at home loaded with gear on a remote wilderness lake or river. While it is best suited for river tripping, it remains versatile enough to be a good all-round canoe. With experience, the self-righting aspects of the shallow arch hull will become apparent and confidence levels will soar. Whats more, it provides a very dry ride in big waves and whitewater.
A stable canoe with excellent maneuverability in smaller streams; popular with fishermen.
The Prospector is ideally suited for extended expeditions or Sunday afternoon family outings. It is similar to a traditional prospector except that it is longer, has sharper entry lines and has less upsweep on the bow and stern. This canoe is fast, handles large waves and rapids very well and can accommodate a large load with ease.
The Scout is the perfect solo canoe as well as being a responsive, compact tandem canoe. Designed to turn quickly and handle large waves, the Scout performs well on the river. Its sharp entry lines and good tracking ability make it versatile enough for lake canoeing as well. The shallow arc bottom and soft chine gives it great secondary stability.
In the Prospector 15 you can do anything, go anywhere. With one of the most versatile classic hull designs available, this canoe can be paddled solo or tandem. With stability, speed and maneuverability in all water conditions, when it comes to day tripping, this is a canoe you’ll never grow out of.
