Super light with predictable performance. The length and rocker was carefully chosen to optimize speed and tracking ability while still allowing responsive turns. Beginner to intermediate paddlers will be reassured by the initial and secondary stability. The chines allow smooth and controlled turns. The new Twin-tex material gives the performance of a stiff and light composite boat with the toughness of a polyethylene boat. The light weight pays off in acceleration, speed and of course on the portage trail.
Quiet, serene, solo paddling in those hard to get to places is where the Wee Lassie excels. This canoe is a modified version of an old Henry Rushton design, which is configured with a low seat and paddled with a double bladed paddle. It also can be paddled in the kneeling position as a free style canoe. The short length and narrow slight V-bottom hull makes this an ideal canoe for shallow, twisty streams and rivers. Flared sides give it good final stability and make it very seaworthy on larger bodies of water with wind and waves. With our light lay-ups, this boat is probably the lightest canoe made and makes it a joy to portage and paddle. If you enjoy exploring places where most canoes cannot go, try the Wee Lassie. Also can be used as a free style canoe.
The Viper 11 is the work horse of the Viper series. It has softer edges than its big brother the Viper 12 but makes up for it with shorter length and more rocker. Easy rolling and quick response is what you will find in the 11. With great primary stability and very good second stability it is the boat to advance your skill.
The first Royalex whitewater canoe to incorporate a double chined hull. As a result of the needs expressed by paddlers, the Nitro was developed to be the best surfing open-canoe available for canoeists. By incorporating double chines the Nitro exhibits predictable edge control when side surfing or carving turns and is comfortable in transitions between initial and secondary stability. A deep hull in the center and towards the ends enhances buoyancy and dryness.
Speed, precision and maneouvrability were the three guiding elements in the creation of the Spark; a concept represented in the lines of the Ignitor, a slalom canoe well known for exceptional performance. In collaboration with American slalom champion John Kazimierczyk, we have created a canoe with the performance of a high quality composite with the toughness of T-Formex. Esquif will continue to support open canoe slalom with designs and involvement. But the Spark is not just for racers. Looking for lightness, precision and acceleration? If you’re a technical paddler looking for a fast, responsive river runner, try the Spark.
Compact and fun to paddle, the Discovery 119 has been a long time favorite. Like the others in the series, this solo canoe is agile, stable and easy to handle. It's even well-suited for a double-bladed paddle. And thanks to our construction process, it's tough without being too heavy. Let the Discovery 119 help you explore new territory.
The shortest version of the Probe series. It has all of the characteristics of the longer Probes such as lots of flare in the sides for great secondary stability, rounded chines for easy side surfing and high volume ends. Smaller paddlers will like the low weight of the Mohawk Probe 11. Larger paddlers will find the Mohawk Probe 11 takes more skill to paddle, but they will enjoy the Mohawk Probe 11’s added responsiveness, small-size and added challenge.
The Princess is a small, lightweight, limited-capacity solo canoe that is equally at home on calm waters as it is hanging from cabin rafters. Well suited for use with a double-ended kayak paddle.
Nessmuk xl is an enlarged version of the replica Nessmuk. It is meant to function in a manner consistent with the original Nessmuk but with a larger person and/or more weight burden. We have carefully kept the designed hull shape in this enlarged version to offer the same feel relative to paddling, maneuverability and seaworthiness.
This lightweight fibreglass canoe (32 lbs.) is ideal for the solo canoeist. Initial and secondary stability are good and tracking is excellent. Materials: Fiberglass - proprietary lay-up - handlaid cloth / foam core
