Canoeing Clubs: Ohio Historical Canoe Route Association

In 1982, this active paddling club was initially founded with the goal of “… reopening and canoeing the three Ohio River to Lake Erie routes used by the Native American Indians. Now in it’s 36th year of paddling the streams of Ohio, OHCRA members have fun exploring the water highways of the great state of Ohio.”

Check out their Trip Reports from past club excursions, and get inspired for paddling Ohio’s diverse rivers. If you’re in Ohio and you’re looking for a community of knowledgable paddlers or if you’re seeking to join a group camping/canoeing trip, start here!

  1. They are a great group – very friendly and happy to paddle with newbies or old-timers.

  2. I love paddling a different river every month.
