I am planning a trip for my college expedition. We have chosen to paddle a 4-5 day section of the Buffalo National River in Arkansas. I have a lot of paddling experience, but some in the group (of 6) im not sure about. I am looking for ideas and suggestions on where to put in, camp, and take out. I was thinking about 20 ish miles a day, thats about what i did in the Allagash as well as BWCA. I’ve never been on this river and am also looking for general tips about neat history, or cool things to see along the river. If anyone knows a little more about the upper sections that would be helpful, im not sure how far up we should start. I know April is very rainy but do you think it will be too much for some novice paddlers to make it through with some more experienced paddlers? I havent seen any other posts on the Buffalo National river so any comments and tips will be helpful.
