Feature Story

mn_miniicon.gif Tofte and Isabella
Tofte and Isabella provide access to the heart of the BWCAW.  Located between Ely and Grand Marais, neither is a large tourist center, but if you want a quiet getaway focused on the wilderness, the resorts of Tofte and the cabins around Isabella may be just what you are after. From Tofte, the Sawbill Trail cuts through the hills, branching towards 6 entry points. North of Isabella there are 6 more entry points. Both towns are serviced by the Tofte Ranger Station. With no motor-boats allowed at these entry points, they take you right into an interior haven of the BWCAW’s more remote lakes and streams.
