Feature Story

mn_miniicon.gif Orr/Crane Lake
Orr, a true north woods small town located on the shores of Pelican Lake is your last stop before one of three visitor centers of Voyageurs National Park. Continue north along Highway 53 to the Ash River and Kabetogama Lake centers or turn off, in Orr, on Highway 23 to reach the Crane Lake Visitors Center. Minnesota 23 is also your route to the Quetico Provincial Park in Canada via Crane Lake and the Lac la Croix Ranger Station on the park’s western boundary. Orr provides basic lodging, dining, and outfitting options. Additional services can be found in Buyck on the way to Crane Lake as well as at the end of the Ash Trail. The strongest appeal for visitors is not found on main street Orr, but rather in the surrounding areas of this Iron Range town.
