Feature Story

Kenora and Nestor Falls
Lake of the Woods stretches across the borders of Manitoba, Ontario, and Minnesota. At its northern tip, Kenora is a city of more than 15,000 people, whereas Nestor Falls, a small town of around 600 people, is situated on one of the eastern arms. Each town provides accommodations and tourist activities in proportion to its size, as well as charter flights and outfitting for canoeists eager to travel in the surrounding wilderness. If you’re headed to Woodland Caribou Provincial Park, you can fly in from either town, or spend the night on your drive to Red Lake.
