A Whitewater Canoeing Experience for all Levels
Located in the heart of downtown Wausau, Wisconsin, the Wausau Whitewater Park offers canoeing and kayaking for everyone to enjoy. This 1/3 mile stretch of the Wisconsin River flows during scheduled release dates at 650cfs (Class II/III rapid) and offers a dozen play features for every level paddler. Recreational paddling days allow any whitewater kayaking or canoeing enthusiast to play for a nominal fee; and if you’re not ready to paddle the rapids on your own, one of the many whitewater kayaking classes will teach you how to manage and navigate the channel.Ray McLain’s Introduction to Whitewater is offered in Levels I, II, and III to progress your paddling skills from flat water to whitewater, and if you’re looking to build your freestyle skills the Jackson Freestyle Clinic provides you with two days of training from sponsored Jackson Kayakers!
